EVDIV 163 - Conducting Concertos Intensive (In Person) Mark Shapiro The ability to sensitively accompany instrumental soloists is an important part of conducting that requires thorough musical preparation as well as quick aural and physical reflexes. Hands-on experience is invaluable. This three-day intensive comprises three four-hour sessions, each with instrumental soloists (such as violin, cello, or piano) and a small instrumental ensemble. Each participant will have approximately 10 minutes of podium time per session. Repertoire will be communicated in advance to registered students. This course is intended for students who can read music fluently and have prior conducting experiences. Participants should expect to sing as well as conduct.
