EVCRT 111 - Music Theory & Analysis I: Diatonic Harmony Nathan See This online music theory course provides an introduction to the theory and analysis of tonal music, and entering students are expected to be familiar with musical fundamentals. After a brief review to establish facility and speed in naming and spelling basic tonal materials, the course introduces species counterpoint, diatonic harmony, and the composition and analysis of musical phrases typical of the Baroque and Classical styles.

Pre-requisites: Elements of Music Theory and Analysis (or equivalent), or placement by application.
Application deadline: Thursday, June 11 @ 5pm ET.
This course is one semester in length. Students receiving a passing grade will progress to Music Theory and Analysis II.
