EVDIV 11 - Elements of Music Theory & Analysis Maximilian Morel This course is appropriate for students who are in the early stages of learning music. In this online music theory class, students explore the elements of music and prepare for more advanced music theory studies. These include notation, symbols, solfège, clefs, key signatures, major and all three minor scales, modal scales, intervals, triads, and seventh chords as well as an introduction to four-part writing, analysis, and modulation. Students are introduced to the reading of simple scores and apply basic skills learned in class through discussion and analysis. This class requires outside preparation in the completion of weekly assignments in order for students to master the skills necessary to continue in the Music Theory and Analysis sequence.
Biography: Max Morel
This course is one semester in length. Students receiving a passing grade will progress to Music Theory and Analysis I.
