Richard Baitz
This course is for students interested in developing the skills needed to compose and produce music for visual media, including commercials, television, film, and video games. Students will develop original scores for selected media excerpts and gain hands-on experience in composing to picture, enhancing emotional impact, and supporting narrative through sound. Topics include spotting to picture, creating a musical composition based on image and story, and how to set up a scoring project in your Digital Audio Workstation. The final project involves scoring and recording the music to a longer-form excerpt, with the participation of one or more live players.
