EVDIV 231 - Voice Class/Solid Singing for Every Performer Kurt Alakulppi, Jane Olian, Andrea Covais, Tharanga Goonetilleke In this course students learn vocal technique, performance skills, and are introduced to the vast vocal literature of art song, opera, oratorio, and musical theater. Each class begins with a vocal warm-up, and the remaining time is spent on the repertoire assigned to each individual singer. Students are assigned repertoire that will best facilitate their development as a singer/performer. Designed to address the needs of singers at all stages of development, these classes comprise singers selected from auditions and placed according to ability and experience. This is a yearlong course. Students may join in either fall or spring; however, spring placements are contingent on midyear vacancies. Placement application required for new students.
Voice classes are 13 weeks per semester and take place one per week with sections available Monday through Thursday as well as Sundays; sections will be determined upon placement. Spring semester classes will begin the week of January 26.
The class will include a recital session on a date and in a room to be determined.

$988 plus $130 accompanist fee per semester
