Conducting classes at Juilliard Extension aim to lay a solid foundation for future study, reflection, or practice associated with any conducting environment. Each semester, students have several opportunities to conduct small ensembles drawn from the Juilliard community. Our conducting courses explore various elements of conducting, rehearsal technique, and also specific techniques associate with certain genres such as operatic recitative.
Conducting students range from those who are just beginning to explore the craft of conducting to seasoned professionals who are looking for ongoing professional development.
Application Information
An application is required for the following offerings to be considered for placement.
Conducting application can be completed here with program selection set to Music and Conducting. Application deadline: Monday, May 20; 5pm ET.
Those interested in applying into courses with different program selections must complete a separate application which is available on the Application Management Page.
