Collaborative Piano-Instrumental, Graduate Diploma

The Graduate Diploma program is for highly gifted musicians who wish to pursue musical studies beyond the undergraduate level but do not wish to enter the full Master of Music degree program. An undergraduate degree or diploma is required for admission.

The Graduate Diploma in Collaborative Piano is a two-year program in order to allow sufficient time for the development of skills in both instrumental and vocal accompanying.  All studies are subject to approval by the department. Students are evaluated and assigned on an individual basis. Chamber music is an optional study that must be approved by the major teacher.
Note:  Proficiency in ear training and music theory is required, and, based upon placement test results, may entail supplementary class work.  Ear Training does not carry credit at the graduate level.

Qualifying Requirements


  • Ear Training I, II
  • Theory and Anaysis
  • Keyboard Studies I, II
  • English (for non-native speakers)
