Speech and Dialects II continues the development of each individual actor’s instrument by strengthening articulators and opening up expressive possibilities through dialects and accents. Students will apply the principles of rhetoric and begin working on techniques for tackling texts that employ heightened language. Students will develop an individual practice to maintain flexibility of their instrument and will develop the skills to learn a dialect/accent independently through explorations of Cultural Context, Prosody, Oral Posture, and Pronunciation.
