EVDOL 13 - Dance This Season
Margaret Hall
Designed for newcomers as well as long-time enthusiasts, this course provides context and conversation focused on the delights of the ballet, contemporary, and commercial dance genres from a variety of perspectives. All of the dance productions, from classical and modern staged concert works to the brand new dance-driven films we survey, are scheduled to be performed in New York and around the world this season, allowing students, outside of class, an opportunity to see them onstage or to livestream the performances where available.

Spring Dances 2026
- Juilliard Dance Division’s annual Spring Dances featuring choreography by: José Limón, Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, and Alvin Ailey.

- Firebird Finale: NYCB’s Firebird, ABT’s Firebird & Dance Theatre of Harlem’s Firebird

Additionally, students enrolled in the course will be eligible to receive one complimentary ticket to Juilliard Dance Division’s production of Spring Dances 2026 (March 25-28, 2026), subject to availability.
Enhanced by guest speakers and recorded audio and video excerpts, this lively course encourages novices and aficionados alike to think differently about dance. No prior knowledge of the subject matter is necessary.
