EVDOL 21 - Keyboard Literature in Concert: Brahms and the Handel Variations Unfolded—His Influences in Live Performance Lisa Yui Explore the musical lineage behind Brahms’ Handel Variations, Op. 24—one of the most monumental works in the piano repertoire—through live performances by Juilliard pianists. This eight-part course traces the traditions that shaped Brahms’ variation technique, from Baroque suites and Beethoven’s variation sets to Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsodies and 19th-century salon works.
