EVCRT 432 - Ear Training Special Topic: Advanced Score Reading (In Person) Evan Fein Building on the concepts of Ear Training IV, this professional-level course focuses on enhancing musicianship skills essential for conductors, composers, producers, and arrangers. This repertoire-based experience allows students to engage with music from a variety of genres—from the Renaissance to the High Romantic period tand the Great American Songbook—to achieve a bird’s- eye view of harmonic and melodic practices. Weekly assignments include score reading and error-detection exercises, highly chromatic and atonal melodic dictations, dictations of standard repertoire from recorded performances, post-tonal and non-tertian chord progressions, and rhythmic performance.
