EVCRT 111 - Music Theory and Analysis I: Diatonic Harmony (Online) Gregory Knowles This course provides an introduction to the theory and analysis of tonal music, and entering students are expected to be already familiar with musical fundamentals. After a brief review, which establishes facility and speed in naming and spelling basic tonal materials, the course introduces species counterpoint, diatonic harmony, and the composition and analysis of idiomatic musical phrases typical of the Baroque and Classical styles.

Pre-requisite: Elements of Music Theory and Analysis (or equivalent) is recommended but not required.
