From the post-bop brilliance of Sonny Rollins and Bill Evans to the boundary-pushing genius of John Coltrane and Keith Jarrett as well as the contemporary mastery of Wynton Marsalis and Cécile McLorin Salvant, the Vanguard has been the stage for countless genre-defining moments. In this course, you’ll dive deep into a curated selection of these historic recordings while also exploring the work of today’s jazz trailblazers performing at the Vanguard, highlighting its lasting impact and continued relevance today.
