Experience the joy of classical ballet in Juilliard Extension’s Ballet for All Intensive. This program is designed for dancers looking to refine their technique, build strength, and deepen their artistry. Open to all levels—from absolute beginners to experienced dancers—it provides a welcoming and supportive space for everyone to grow. This intensive is offered in two sections, each focusing on a distinct ballet style, allowing dancers to explore and master a diverse range of movements. Students are welcome to enroll in one or both sections to experience the full spectrum of our program.

Ballet for All Intensive: Adagio

In Ballet Adagio students will start class with exercises at the barre designed to build strength and flexibility, developing your foundational basis in pliés, tendus, and battements. Once warmed up, the class will shift to center work. Here, participants will explore adagio—graceful, controlled phrases that enhance leg extensions—before moving on to pirouettes, where students will refine technique to turn with precision and ease.

Ballet for All Intensive: Allegro

In Ballet Allegro the class begins at the barre, where students learn dynamic exercises while reinforcing the fundamentals, like pliés, tendus, and battements. Once warmed up, the class transitions to the center, where the focus shifts to larger movement exploration. Students will glide gracefully through space in waltzing exercises before progressing to allegro, where participants practice jumps in various sizes and forms to build technique and enhance spatial awareness.

With live piano accompaniment, participants will develop essential ballet techniques, improve balance and coordination, and connect more deeply with the music. Held in Juilliard’s Kaufman Studio, this intensive class provides a focused training experience in an inviting dance setting.
