3 credits
Roger Oliver

Prerequisite: LARTS 112  Shakespeare drew on Greek and Roman history, often as found in Plutarch’s Lives of the Noble Greeks and Romans, for many of his plays. This course will examine the plays Troilus and Cressida, Timon of Athens, Titus Andronicus, Julius Caesar, Antony and Cleopatra and Coriolanus, to explore Shakespeare’s relationship with the ancient world and his incomparable ability to translate history into theatrical art.
