EVDIV 158 - Piano Duo Intensive: Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Mozart, Milhaud Konstantin Soukhovetski This four-day Piano Duet Intensive is designed to enhance your experience of playing in a piano duet. It’s taught by faculty member and alum Konstantin Soukhovetski, who has more than 17 international awards and has performed in piano duets for more than two decades, including double piano concertos with the orchestra. He will share his insight into technical execution as well as his unique, acting-derived approach to interpretation, Narrative Musicianship.
The four duets (eight students) will receive one-on-one coaching as well as a group lecture. The intensive will culminate in a performance. The repertory choices: Rachmaninoff’s Piano Suite No. 1, Debussy’s Prélude á l’apres-midi d’un Faune, Mozart’s Two-Piano Sonata, K. 448 in D, and Milhaud’s Scaramouche.
Optional: the score of Soukhovetski’s two-piano arrangement of Edith Piáf’s most beloved songs (four-minute concert fantasy) will be made available.
