EVDOL 026 - J. S. BACH: The Goldberg Variations Mirian Conti This class is an in-depth analysis of one of the masterpieces of keyboard literature, the Goldberg Variations, which is considered the seminal example of the variation form. This gem of the Baroque opens solemnly, full of tenderness and calm, followed by arabesques, overtures, fugues, canons at the different intervals, passionate arias, trills, and waltz-like bravura in the final Quodlibet, ending its tour-deforce with the repetition of the initial aria. Reading music is desirable but not mandatory.
Two sections of the course are available, one online and the other in person. Each section will be offered at different times, but the course content will remain consistent between them. This course is not sequential or divided into parts.
