Prerequisite: THMUS 111-2D . Expansion of musical concepts and skills developed through listening, writing, ear training, composing, and improvising. In-depth topical studies, including understanding 20th- and 21st-century techniques; researching and analyzing Stravinsky’s works for dance; hearing and analyzing form in musical masterworks from the classical period to the present; and examining the impact of jazz, world music, and folk music on classical composers. Required for all second-year dance students.
